The Path to Home Ownership was founded by real estate educator and investor Lou Brown after decades of experience helping families navigate the challenges of buying a home. Over the course of more than 30 years, Lou Brown and his organization worked with homeowners, buyers, investors, and housing professionals across the country, consistently encountering hardworking people who were capable of making monthly payments but unable to qualify for traditional bank financing. In response, the Path to Home Ownership was developed as a structured, compliant system that allows families to move into a home first and progress toward ownership over time. Today, the program is supported by a nationwide network of Certified Affordable Housing Providers and has helped thousands of families achieve stability, security, and the pride of owning a home.
